FAQs

What does Saving Stones do?

We carefully clean and restore gravesite headstones with respect, ensuring your loved one’s memory is beautifully preserved.

How do I request a cleaning?

Simply contact us via our website, email, or social media to schedule a service. Photos will be required before any work is performed.

What types of headstones do you clean?

We clean granite, marble, and other stone materials commonly used for gravesite markers and headstones. We will be happy to look at any memorial to help in any way we can.

Do you use harsh chemicals?

No, we use environmentally safe products that won’t damage the stone.

How long does the cleaning process take?

We don’t typically put a time frame on the process. These memorials deserve to be restored with the utmost care and respect for best results.

Do you clean headstones in all cemeteries?

Yes, as long as we have permission from the cemetery or the family.

Can you restore faded inscriptions?

We will be happy to look at any memorial for a custom quote. We do not offer engraving services at this time but do repaint faded inscriptions.

How often should a headstone be cleaned?

At minimum once a year, depending on weather and environmental factors. But we recommend 2-3 times a year for the best care and maintenance.

How can I maintain a headstone after cleaning?

Avoid harsh cleaners. We recommend Hardscape BSC, an environmentally friendly cleaner safe for granite, marble and all hard surfaces. Hardscape BSC is also not damaging to plants or grass. You can find the link to it here.

Do you use a power washer or pressure washer to clean the headstones?

No. We use gentle, stone-safe cleaning methods to safely restore and preserve the stone’s integrity. Power washers can cause serious damage to headstones by eroding the stone, weakening inscriptions, and forcing water into cracks, leading to further deterioration.
